At the age of seven, Benjamin started his musical career on the trumpet in his home area, the Black Forest. In addition to playing in the local wind orchestra, he discovered another passion in the orchestra of his music school: the big band.

Studies

In the years 2000 – 2006 Benjamin completed several studies with Prof. Andrea Friedhofen (EMP) and Prof. Uwe Kleindienst (trumpet) and gained the following degrees:

– Diploma in Elementary Music Pedagogy

– Diploma in Music Pedagogy Instrumental Subject Trumpet

The artist

His musical work is versatile and ranges from leading in the “Symphonic Wind Orchestra Vorarlberg”, playing the 1st trumpet in the University Wind Orchestra of the Music Academy Augsburg, to participating in numerous chamber music instrumentations (e.g. (B)lechzehn) as well as being the flugelhorn player of the 3BA Concert Band. Playing music as a trumpeter enables Benjamin to be present in the moment of NOW and creates the feeling of home for him – in the music, with the orchestra members and the audience. Since 2019 he has been pursuing his passion for light music/rock and funk as a permanent member of the party band “Muckasäck”.

The educator

In addition to his rich artistic work on the trumpet, Benjamin’s main concern is to pass on his knowledge as a lecturer and especially as a teacher. He loves to motivate and inspire other young talents and people interested in music.

His students regularly achieve very good results in competitions and play in numerous selection orchestras throughout Bavaria, such as the Bläserphilharmonie Ehgatten or the Schwäbischen Jugendsinfonieorchester. Besides, Benjamin regularly prepares future music students for their trumpet auditions with great success.

He also shares his pedagogical sensitivity and knowledge as a mentor in the subject instrumental pedagogy for trumpet within the framework of a teaching position at the University of Augsburg.
